Timmins Police (platoon 2) has undertaken self-initiated traffic safety campaigns lately in keeping with their commitment to roadway safety locally.
On Monday, the 6th of February, between 2:45 and 5:00 p.m., members of platoon 2 conducted an impromptu RIDE spot check program and collected the following data.
A total of 695 vehicles were stopped which resulted in 2 verbal warnings being issued.
One such warning was issued to a driver for driving with their pet on their lap in such a way as to impede the safe operation of the vehicle.

Thankfully, none of the officers involved found it necessary to administer any roadside breath tests.
