This year, the Ontario Police Memorial Foundation (OPMF) is not able to organize a gathering at the Police Memorial in Toronto. However, the police community is united in remembering our fallen police officers as well as pay tribute to Constable Heidi Stevenson, RCMP Nova Scotia, who recently paid the ultimate sacrifice in serving her community.
On Sunday, May 3, 2020, the OPMF has arranged for five Pipers to attend the Memorial and at 11:00 a.m. play Amazing Grace while the Chair of the OPMF will lay a wreath on behalf of all police services and associations. The OPMF Board of Directors will be in attendance to support and practice physical distancing. They encourage all services to live stream the tribute while joining the OPMF in remembering our Heroes in Life, not Death.
In addition, the flags at the Timmins Police station are flying at half-mast in homage to those officers lost in the line of duty in Ontario.
