Weekend break and enters lead to charges for several individuals

Over the weekend, Timmins Police officers responded to more than 200 calls for service. Several of those calls resulted in criminal charges being laid.

On July 21, at approximately 4:20 p.m., police received a report of a break and enter at a residence in Timmins. The report indicated that an individual had allegedly gained entry to the residence and caused damage inside the home, as well as taken items from the residence.

An individual was located by police a short time later. Further investigation by police revealed that the suspect was also bound by a probation order with a condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Gregory Sherman FERRIGAN, 25, of Timmins was charged with Break, Enter and Commit Indictable Offence and Fail to Comply with Probation. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing for today, July 24, 2017.

On July 22, at approximately 3:45 p.m., a resident reported a separate break and enter at another residence in Timmins. Unknown individuals had allegedly gained entry to the residence and taken several food items. Following an investigation by police, two individuals were arrested and charged accordingly. Nikeya FARIES, 19, and Nicholas JONES, 21, both of Cochrane, ON both face charges of Break, Enter and Commit Indictable Offence (x2). They were released on Promises to Appear in court with a future court date of September 5, 2017.
