Two individuals face charges in relation to recent home invasion

On August 14, 2017 at approximately 10:00 p.m., police responded to a report of a home invasion. Information received by police indicated that unknown persons had attended a residence and assaulted the homeowner with a weapon. Investigation revealed that the residence was targeted. The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of the assault.

The investigation was completed by members of the Timmins Police Service Criminal Investigation Section, with the assistance of uniform patrol officers. On August 19, 2017, police arrested and charged one suspect, with the second suspect being arrested and charged on August 20.

Christopher KILLEEN, 36, of Timmins faces charges of Break, Enter and Commit Indictable Offence and Assault with a Weapon. Kevin DUPERE, 33, of Timmins faces charges of Break, Enter and Commit Indictable Offence, Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Mischief Under $5000, and Breach of Probation.

Both individuals were held in custody and appeared in bail court on Monday, August 21. Killeen was remanded to September 1, 2017 for video remand. Dupere was remanded to today, August 23, for a bail hearing.
