TIMMINS POLICE TAKE ON ECOLE ANICET-MORIN STUDENTS IN CHARITY BASKETBALL GAME

The action was fast and furious yesterday afternoon in the gym at Ecole Anicet-Morin as the Timmins Police Raptors took on the Anicet Morin squad in a charity basketball game.

Timmins Police managed to eek out a victory on the hardcourt against a skilled and focused team of young competitors.

Logan “brick-launcher” Ferrington and Tara “elbows” Laroche tore up and down the court while Paul “picked last” Colbey and Brennan “that’s a foul” Campbell seemed to master the art of stay at home defensive play.

Trevor “Double Dribble” Mc Gee and Bill “double double” Martin were definite threats every time they got into the paint and racked up some serious points.

Henry “hoops” Dacosta survived an injury sustained in the early going and stayed in the game along with Tim “4th line” Chalmers and Mark “bricks r us” Lauzon.

Rounding out the Timmins team was Aaron “AAC, that’s for me” Carter, Ken “mad skills” Roy, Dany “Danger” Durepos and Mel “nothing but net” Carter

The Timmins Police team was cheered on by Ash Keizer who attended the game briefly to provide a little inspiration.

All funds and non-perishable food donations were donated to Project Love and an area food bank.
