TIMMINS POLICE RESPOND TO SHOPLIFT OCCURRENCE – LOCATE SUSPECTS – MAKE ARRESTS

The Timmins Police Service was alerted to a case of suspected shoplifting at an Algonquin Blvd retailer on the morning of Thursday, June 6th.

The matter was investigated by the responding Timmins Police Service officers and a trio of suspects was identified, located, and arrested a short distance from the scene.

Varied items allegedly stolen from the store were found on their respective persons upon being arrested.

As a result of this incident, Anthony Michael IAHTAIL, 34, Patrick ETHERINGTON, 35 and Celina WESLEY, 36, all of Timmins, have been charged with:

– Theft Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

ETHERINGTON and WESLEY are charged with 2 additional counts each of

– Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

WESLEY has been released from custody but must attend Provincial Court in Timmins on July 16th to answer to the charges laid against her.

The other two charged persons remain in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court (Timmins).
