TIMMINS POLICE RECOVER STOLEN VEHICLE – SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with a number of Criminal Code charges stemming from an incident involving a stolen vehicle during the noon hour of Tuesday, September 10th.
While completing patrols of the north end of the city, a Timmins Police Service officer recognized a stolen vehicle being driven by a male subject.
When attempts were undertaken to stop the vehicle, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
The suspect was located and arrested a short while later by the Timmins Police Service.
The vehicle was recovered and police ascertained that other allegedly stolen items were present in the vehicle.
As a result of the incident, Peter ALBERT, 34, of Timmins, Ontario, has been charged with:
– 4 counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
– Mischief Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
– Resist Peace Officer contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Possession of Break-In Tools contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
– Breach of Probation contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused was held in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
