The Timmins Police Service has charged three local women with theft related offences stemming from an incident that occurred during the morning hours of Thursday, January 19th at a First Avenue business.
Based on investigation, it has been determined that the 3 women entered onto a First Avenue commercial property and made off with a yet to be installed door worth $500.00
When confronted by the owner, the women fled with the door, eventually abandoning it at a Balsam Street South location.
Responding Timmins Police officers were able to identify, locate, and arrest all three of the women involved in the theft
The stolen item has been returned to the rightful owner by the Timmins Police Service.
As a result of the incident, Christiana KOOSTACHIN, 20, Melanie WILLIAMS, 32, and MondaQua TOMIGATICK, 35, all of Timmins, have been charged respectively with:
– Theft Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
KOOSTACHIN remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against her.
WILLIAMS was released from police custody on the strength of an Appearance Notice compelling her to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins on March 8th to answer to the charges laid against her.
TOMIGATICK was released from police custody on the strength of an Undertaking compelling her to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins on March 1st to answer to the charges laid against her.
