The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with a number of Criminal Code offences stemming from an incident that occurred at a Birch Street North residence during the afternoon hours of Tuesday, May 19th.
The Timmins Police Service responded to an incident where a man had gained entry into an apartment and assaulted the 36-year-old male tenant with a weapon.
The tenant’s injuries were addressed by responding Timmins paramedics who attended the scene.
The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival but was located blocks away thanks to alert citizens who provided direction about a suspicious person to Timmins Police officers.
The man was arrested and taken into custody by the Timmins Police Service
As a result of the incident, Barry GODIN, 46, of Timmins, has been charged with:
– Assault with a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Cause a Disturbance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to address the charges laid against him.
