TIMMINS POLICE LAY NEW SET OF CHARGES AGAINST KAMISKOTIA MAN

The Timmins Police Service has charged a Kamiskotia Lake resident with a number of Criminal Code offences stemming from an ongoing dispute that escalated to the level of alleged criminal activity over the weekend.
The Timmins Police Service responded to a complaint on the afternoon of Friday, August 2nd, and completed an investigation into the destructive and aggressive comportment of a Kamiskotia Lake resident.
Based on the outcome of this renewed complaint of alleged harassment and other aspects of the investigation, John SABOURIN, 77, of Kamiskotia Lake (Timmins) has been charged with:
– 4 counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Utter Threats contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Mischief – Destroy Property contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Criminal Harassment contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The man was taken into police custody after the matter was thoroughly investigated.
The accused was released from custody on strict conditions to keep the peace and be of good behavior and to attend Provincial Court in Timmins on August 20th to answer to the charges laid against him.
These most recent charges fall on the heels of recent events of a similar nature.
The Timmins Police Service were called upon to respond to a renewed complaint on Friday, July 19th and again on the afternoon of Saturday, July 20th, where investigations led to charges of:
– Fail to Comply with Undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Utter Threats contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Mischief Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Criminal Harassment contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The man was arrested on Saturday, July 20th and released at a Bail Hearing on July 22nd at Provincial Court in Timmins where it was ordered that he attend court on August 13th in order to address the original charges laid against him.
