TIMMINS POLICE INVESTIGATE DISPUTE – LAY CHARGES AGAINST LOCAL MAN

The Timmins Police Service has investigated a mid-morning disturbance that occurred on Thursday, February 18 at a McLean Drive residence.

The matter was reported to the Timmins Police Service a day later where a male subject entered into a verbal dispute with a female person in the residence that escalated to the point where the suspect uttered threats to the victim.

The responding Timmins Police officers were able to identify, locate, and arrest the male suspect on February 19th.

As a result, Ronald LAFERRIERE, 57, of Timmins has been charged with:

  • Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • 2 counts of Utter Threats contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remained in police custody for the purposes of a bail hearing where he was released on strict conditions including having to attend at Provincial Court in Timmins on March 9th to answer to the charges laid against him.
