The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with Criminal Code offences stemming from an early evening incident that occurred on Monday, January 23rd in the parking lot of a local restaurant where a subject willfully caused damage to a pickup truck.
Based on investigation, it was determined that the suspect rammed a grocery cart into the side of a pickup truck in an unprovoked manner, resulting in an estimated $1000 in damage to the vehicle.
The responding Timmins Police officer was able to identify, locate, and arrest the suspect a short distance from the original scene.
As a result, George STEPHEN, 32, of Timmins, has been charged with:
– Mischief to Property contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
