TIMMINS POLICE EXECUTE SEARCH WARRANT – LOCATE WEAPON – CHARGE LOCAL MAN

The Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into an incident where a 23-year-old male resident of Timmins is alleged to have been in possession of a weapon in conflict with conditions imposed upon him by the Provincial Court in Timmins.
The investigation culminated in the execution of a Search Warrant at a Tamarack Street residence yesterday and the seizure of a weapon by the Timmins Police Service.
Based on the outcome of the investigation, Clarence THURSTON, 23, of Timmins, has been charged with:
– Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
