The Timmins Police Service was called to the Porcupine Mall on the morning of November 12th of last year in response to the discovery of the body of a deceased person.
The scene remained under the control of the Timmins Police Service – Criminal Investigations Division with restricted access to the public in order for investigative measures to be undertaken.
The identity of the deceased was eventually confirmed as Chelsea NAKOGEE, 28 of Porcupine, Ontario.
The investigation focused on determining if foul play was involved in conjunction with the local Coroner’s Office who managed the post mortem examination.
Based on the outcome of a comprehensive investigation by the Timmins Police Service – Criminal Investigations Division, a timeline as to when the deceased was last observed prior to her death was determined, along with events in regards to the alleged actions of a Timmins man in relation to the deceased after her death
As a result of the investigation, Patrick LALONDE, 49 of Timmins has been charged with one count of:
- Indignity to Dead Body contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused is required to attend Provincial Court in Timmins on June 25th, 2019, in answer to the charge laid against him.
