The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with theft related offences stemming from a series of theft incidents that occurred at a Toke Street convenience store.

A Timmins Police Service officer responded to a call for service where a male party was being held awaiting police arrival after a number of shoplifting incidents had been observed being completed by the suspect on April 13th, 17th , and one final time on April 18th .

The responding officer took the man into custody based on the evidence provided by the store clerk and placed him under arrest.

As a result of the incidents, Adam PORTER, 42, of Timmins, has been charged with:

– 3 counts of Theft Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

– 3 counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

PORTER remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
