TIMMINS POLICE CHARGE LOCAL MAN WITH WEAPONS OFFENCES

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with a number of Criminal Code offences stemming from a disturbance involving a weapon at a Grant Street residence which occurred during the evening hours of Friday, August 2nd.
The Timmins Police Service responded to a complaint and completed an investigation into the occurrence where it is alleged an edged weapon was brandished by the suspect.
Based on the outcome of the investigation, Shawn NAKOGEE, 24, of Timmins has been charged with:
– 3 counts of Assault with a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– 3 counts of Utter Threats contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Possession of a weapon for a dangerous Purpose contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Cause Disturbance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Fail To Comply with Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The man was arrested on Friday, August 2nd and held for a Bail Hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins in order to address the original charges laid against him.
