TIMMINS POLICE CHARGE LOCAL MAN WITH THEFT FROM GROCERY STORE

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with theft related offences stemming from a set of incidents that occurred during the afternoon hours of Sunday, November 19th at a local grocery store.

Based on investigation, it was determined that the man had attended at a local grocery store and began to collect a significant amount of merchandise in a cart and fled the store through an Emergency Exit which triggered the door alarm.

He returned and committed a similar offence at the same location approximately 2 hours later

He fled on foot only to be apprehended by the Timmins Police a short distance from the store.

As a result of the incidents, Scott NAKOGEE, 29, of Timmins, has been charged with:

– 2 counts of Theft Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

– 2 counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

– 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

NAKOGEE remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
