TIMMINS POLICE CHARGE LOCAL MAN WITH THEFT

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local person with theft related offences stemming from an incident that occurred during the late afternoon hours of Tuesday, May 10th at a Waterloo Road strip mall in Timmins.

A Timmins Police Service officer responded to a call for service regarding a person who had attended at the LCBO and proceeded to steal a bottle of liquor, and fled on foot.

Based on the investigation, the responding Timmins Police officer was able to identify, locate, and arrest the male suspect a short while later that same day.

It was further determined that the suspect is named in an Arrest Warrant held by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result of the incident, Shawn NAKOGEE, 30, of Timmins, has been charged with:

– Theft Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

NAKOGEE remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
