TIMMINS POLICE CHARGE LOCAL MAN WITH DRUG POSSESSION OFFENCE

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with drug possession offences stemming from an incident that occurred during the early morning hours of Saturday, September 9th on Kent Avenue in Timmins.

While completing general crime abatement patrols, a Timmins Police officer observed and recognized a pedestrian as being a wanted person.

The pedestrian was interviewed and once the validity of the Arrest Warrant was confirmed , the suspect was taken into police custody.

A quantity of a controlled substance was located on the suspect’s person and seized as evidence by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result of the incident, Jeffrey MCGEE, 42, of Timmins, has been charged with:

– Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

MCGEE remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins, to answer to the charges laid against him.
