TIMMINS POLICE CHARGE LOCAL MAN FOR SUCCESSIVE BREACHES OF PROBATION

The Timmins Police Service has arrested and charged a local resident stemming from a set of incidents that occurred during the evening hours of Sunday, November 21 and again on Monday, November 22nd in regards to breaches of probation.

Responding to a call regarding an unwanted person, the Timmins Police Service determined that the subject of the complaint was bound by strict court imposed conditions including keeping the peace and being prohibited from attending specific locations.

The subject persisted in attending one of the defined locations on both evenings.

As a result, Barry GODIN, 47, of Timmins was arrested yesterday evening and taken into police custody and is charged with:

  • 3 counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • 1 count of Fail to Comply with Undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
