TIMMINS POLICE ARREST LOCAL MAN FOR CAUSING A DISTURBANCE

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with a number of Criminal Code offences stemming from an incident which occurred at a Vimy Avenue convenience store during the early morning hours of Saturday, January 1st.

The Timmins Police Service responded to a disturbance in progress involving an agitated person.

Responding Timmins Police officers managed to escort the male subject out of the premises in order to complete the arrest.

Once outside the male subject began yelling obscenities towards all persons present and became assaultive towards the officer.

The officer gained control of the subject and completed the arrest and took the man into custody.

As a result of the incident, Adam PORTER, 43, of Timmins, has been charged with:

– Cause Disturbance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

– Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

– Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to address the charges laid against him.
