On July 30, at approximately 1:00 p.m., police responded to a residence in Timmins for a report of a domestic dispute. During the course of an argument, a male suspect is alleged to have physically assaulted his female partner. Further investigation revealed that domestic incidents dating as far back as 2014 included multiple assaults, threats, damage to the victim’s property, and occurrences where the male would not allow the victim to leave the residence.
Following an investigation, a 42 year-old man from Timmins is facing 15 counts, including Assault (x5), Forcible confinement (x3), Mischief under $5000 (x3), Aggravated Assault (x3), and one count of Uttering Threats. The accused was held for a bail hearing scheduled for today, July 31, 2017.
As per the Timmins Police Service’s standard practice in domestic related incidents, the name of the accused cannot be published to avoid identifying the victim.
