Timmins man faces multiple charges following report of assault

On August 1, officers with the Timmins Police Service received a report of an alleged assault which had reportedly taken place the previous day. Information received by police indicated that while socializing in a residence, an individual became aggressive and physically assaulted the victim. The victim was treated in hospital for minor injuries.

On August 5, 2017, the accused was located by police and arrested in relation to the above incident. Jeremy NAKOGEE, 19, of Timmins faces charges of Assault with a Weapon, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, and Breach of Probation (x2).

The accused was additionally charged for an incident that occurred on July 17 where he is alleged to have taken a quantity of liquor from the LCBO without paying for the items. In relation to this incident, Nakogee faces charges including Theft under $5000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Breach of Probation.

He was held in custody pending his next court appearance, scheduled for August 10, 2017.
