Three individuals charged following home invasion

On July 19, at approximately 1:15 a.m., officers from the Timmins Police Service attended a residence in Timmins for a home invasion. Reports indicated that three individuals had allegedly attended at a home in Timmins, assaulting the residents inside and left the residence with several items. Police are considering this to be an isolated incident, and public safety is not a concern.

The victims were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation was completed by members of the Criminal Investigation and Forensic Identification Sections, with assistance from patrol officers. As a result of this incident, three individuals were arrested and have been charged accordingly.

A 17 year-old young offender faces charges including Break, Enter and Commit Indictable Offence, Robbery with a Weapon, Fail to Comply with Undertaking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Assault. The young offender cannot be named pursuant to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Julian JONES, 18, of Timmins, faces charges including Break, Enter and Commit Indictable Offence, Robbery with a Weapon, Disguise with Intent, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Assault.

Rande SILVENNOINEN, 19, of Timmins faces charges including Break, Enter and Commit Indictable Offence, Assault with a Weapon, Fail to comply with Probation Order, Disguise with Intent, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Robbery with a Weapon, Fail to Comply with Probation, and Assault causing Bodily Harm.

All three individuals were held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for today, July 20, 2017.
