On May 8, 2017, a Timmins Police officer on foot patrol observed an individual known to be wanted on an outstanding warrant by the Timmins Police Service. The individual fled on foot upon being approached by the officer, and a foot pursuit ensued.
With the assistance of other officers, the individual was located and placed under arrest. Upon being searched as per standard protocol, police located a quantity of controlled substances in the suspect’s possession. Police also learned that the individual was bound by previously imposed conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
As a result, Amanda SUTHERLAND, 33, of Timmins, faces charges of Breach of Probation, Possession of a Schedule I Substance (x2) and Possession of a Schedule II Substance. She was held in custody pending a bail hearing set for May 9, 2017.
