PEDESTRIAN RELATED MVC LEADS TO CHARGES AGAINST LOCAL DRIVER

A pedestrian-related MVC took place at the intersection of Pine and Algonquin Blvd at 8:40 this morning.

The level of injury to the 49-year-old male pedestrian is unknown but he was transported to hospital by ambulance.

Timmins Fire Department personnel, Ambulance technicians, and Timmins Police were on site but have since completed their respective duties and have cleared the scene

A 17-year-old male driver has been issued an Offence Notice related to a violation of sect 144 (7) of the Highway Traffic Act – FAIL TO YIELD FOR PEDESTRIAN

The Timmins Police wish to remind all motorists to be mindful of pedestrians at all times. Driving hastily or with any degree of inattentiveness is a dangerous combination behind the wheel. Motorists must shoulder the responsibility of driving safely as their first priority.
