Mischief at local high school not believed to be caused by a weapon

The Timmins Police Service is currently investigating a mischief that occurred sometime between Friday, February 23, and Monday, February 26, 2018 at École secondaire catholique Theriault. The damage to school involved windows being broken by unknown objects.

At this point in the investigation, police do not believe the damage was caused by a weapon, more specifically by a firearm. The investigation into the mischief continues by members of the Criminal Investigations Section.

Public safety and the safety of our students is a priority for the Timmins Police Service, along with the Conseil scolaire catholique de district des Grandes Rivières, however police do not believe that this incident involved a threat to the school.
