TIMMINS POLICE TAKE PART IN CELEBRITY BOWL-A-THON FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS

The Timmins Police Service was well represented at a recent celebrity fundraising event for Special Olympics

The Timmins Midtown Bowl was hopping on Saturday, September 21st from 7:00 p.m. until just about 9:30 p.m.

Featured celebrity guests included former NHL players and other special guests.

The event included good-natured bowling competition, food and refreshments and more than a few lasting memories.

This event was held to help support the law Enforcement Torch Run’s mission and its goal to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Bowling is one of the most popular sports in the Special Olympics.  It is a particularly beneficial sport to people with intellectual disabilities, irrespective of their age or sports abilities,

since it ensures physical exercise and at the same time participation and social integration. Plus, it’s great fun!
