In conjunction with International Women’s Week, the Timmins Police Service recently joined forces with the United Way of Northeastern Ontario and Pad Patrol of Timmins.
The goal was to promote awareness and inspire donations to the Tampon Tuesday campaign that drew to a close yesterday at Full Beard brewing.
This event ran until March 7th where donated feminine hygiene products were collected for this very worthy cause.
Collection stations were set up in the front lobby and other key locations within the Timmins Police station.
The Timmins Police benefitted from the generosity of many Timmins Police staff member who opted to donate to this cause in keeping with raising awareness of “period poverty”.
All donated items were delivered to Full Beard Brewing yesterday by Brenda Beaven of the Timmins Police Service.
Jennifer Byrnes from Pad Patrol was on hand to receive the collected items as part of the United Way’s Tampon Tuesday initiative.
