Today, Tuesday December 19, representatives from the Timmins Police Service, Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service, Northeast Harley Owners Group, and the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club met to distribute toys donated by the community, just in time for the holidays.
Toys distributed to the Timmins Area Women in Crisis will go toward their “Holiday Wish” program, which sees families recommended who may be in need of some extra holiday spirit. The toys were collected through the annual Motorcycle Toy Rally, which took place in June of 2017.
“It really means a lot to us to receive these toys each year,” said Lesley Brewer, Manager of Programs and Services with the Timmins Area Women in Crisis. “We greatly value the support that the community has shown, and continues to show through various initiatives like this one.”
In addition to toys from this summer’s motorcycle rally, toys were also donated through a toy drive which took place December 9 at the Bargain Shop in Timmins.
Once again, the Timmins Police Service thanks the community for the generosity shown in order to make the holidays happy for everyone.
