TIMMINS POLICE ACKNOWLEDGE THE RECENT PASSING OF RETIRED TPS SERGEANT BRIAN GRANT

The Timmins Police Service wishes to acknowledge the recent passing of Sergeant Brian Grant (ret).

He passed away in Sturgeon Falls on Thursday September 15th, 2022 at the age of 86 years.

Brian began his career in law enforcement in Timmins on November 16th, 1970, where he served as a Constable focusing on crime prevention.

He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in his 11th year with the Timmins Police Service.

Sgt. Brian Grant retired with distinction on June 2nd, 2000, after 30 years of steadfast service.

Brian Grant was held in high regard by his colleagues as a no-nonsense police officer.

He earned and enjoyed a reputation for maintaining his composure in stressful times and the ability to apply reason and logic as a natural problem solver.

Brian Grant possessed a strong work ethic and inspired other officers to follow his example.

He believed that police officers have a duty to serve and he enjoyed the sense of camaraderie that serving with the Timmins Police afforded him.

He took his duties seriously and used his authorities judiciously.  He will be missed by his former colleagues in law enforcement.

A cremation has already taken place and as per his wishes, no visitation ceremony was undertaken.

A burial is set to take place at the Tisdale Cemetery at a date that has yet to be determined.

The Timmins Police Service wish to publicly acknowledge Brian Grant for his unselfish service to the community of Timmins.
