Recently, Timmins Police Constables Tony Chilton and Nick Osborne visited the community of Peawanuk to speak to a group of students who will be attending high school in Timmins this fall.
Officers spoke to students about a number of topics, including street safety, drug awareness, peer pressure, as well as making students aware of various youth programs available in Timmins. Their visit also included a lesson on how to navigate public transit in Timmins.
“We had an awesome trip, and we were very well-received by the students,” said Cst. Chilton. “I think it helped to put their minds at ease a little about coming to Timmins in the Fall.”
The Timmins Police Service thanks their policing partners the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service for the invitation and coordination of this worthwhile trip.
