Northern College hosted its grand opening of its Integrated Emergency Training Center on Monday to showcase its state of the art facilities to the general public.
The event was attended by dignitaries from the area and from as far away as Virginia (USA).
The parade of dignitaries was marched into the newly minted facilities led by the TPS Pipes and Drums Band.
Several speakers lauded praise on how spectacular the band was and how it added an element of formality to the grand opening.
Chief John Gauthier was part of the dignitaries who attended and preside over the formal ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The TPS ERT team added to the festivities by hosting a re-enactment of a high-risk takedown at the “traffic intersection” section of the new facilities.
All in all, Timmins Police was well represented at this event which offers a number of training and community policing options for TPS down the road.
