The Timmins Police Service has investigated a disturbance that occurred yesterday evening (Jan 26) in relation to a fire at a Kirby Avenue apartment building.
The Timmins Police Service responded to the occurrence where a fire had been discovered in one of the apartments and an altercation had taken place afterward between 2 men.
The Timmins Fire Department responded and while completing fire suppression efforts, firefighters observed a man at the scene brandishing a weapon as he approached a second man.
Responding Timmins Police officers completed an investigation into the occurrence and, based on information provided, they were able to identify, locate, and arrest the male suspect.
A weapon was located on the suspect’s person in the course of the arrest.
As a result, David ISERHOFF, 29, of Timmins has been charged with:
– Assault with a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Carry a Concealed Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused remains in police custody for the purposes of a bail hearing slated for today at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him
