TIMMINS POLICE LOCATE AND ARREST 2ND SUSPECT INVOLVED IN APRIL FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT OCCURRENCE

The Timmins Police Service has located and arrested a second suspect linked to an April 2022 incident where a 21-year-old male person had been confined and repeatedly assaulted over a 2-day period of time.

The investigation focused on the actions of two women towards the male victim and resulted in the arrest of Chantal DOUCET, 41, of Timmins on April 20th and an Arrest Warrant being issued for the arrest of the second female suspect.

Officers with the Timmins Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Division executed the Arrest Warrant yesterday afternoon and took Cassie SHELDON, 33, of Timmins, into custody.

She is charged with:

  • Assault – Cause Bodily Harm contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Assault with a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Administer Noxious Substance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Forcible Confinement contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Sexual Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Robbery with Violence contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Uttering Threats contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody for the purposes of a bail hearing to be heard today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against her
