The Timmins Police Service has charged a local woman with Impaired Driving related Criminal Code offences stemming from a single-vehicle collision that occurred during the afternoon hours of Sunday, December 20th
Responding Timmins Police officers located a vehicle overturned on the front lawn of a Roblin Street residential property.
The driver had fled to a neighboring back yard but was located by the Timmins Police.
The driver was treated by EMS for a facial laceration.
Once her medical concerns had been addressed, the driver was arrested and taken to the Timmins Police station to complete Intoxilyzer testing procedures.
An open container of liquor was located within the overturned vehicle.
As a result of the incident, Naomi Blue ELIOT, 40, of Timmins, has been charged with:
– Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Operate Motor Vehicle – Concentration in Excess of 80 mgs / 100 mls of Blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Drive Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor contrary to the Liquor Licence Act
– Fail to Remain at the scene of a Collision contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
The accused person was released from police custody on the strength of an Undertaking requiring that he attend Provincial Court in Timmins on January 5th, 2021, to address the charge laid against her.
