The Timmins Police Service has investigated a disturbance that occurred yesterday morning (December 9th) at a local office building where a 63 year old man was assaulted.

Based on investigation, it was determined that a female suspect, who is known to police, entered into a dispute which escalated to the point where she struck a male party with a chair in the unprovoked incident.

The suspect fled the scene on foot but was located by the Timmins Police shortly after the original incident took place and was taken into custody.

The victim declined medical treatment for his injuries which were determined to be minor.

As a result, Eleanor WESLEY, 31, of Timmins has been charged with:

  • Assault with a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody for the purposes of a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against her.
