TIMMINS POLICE IDENTIFY, LOCATE AND ARREST RESTAURANT BREAK AND ENTER SUSPECT

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with Break and Enter related offences stemming from an incident that occurred during the early morning hours of Friday, January 20th at an Algonquin Blvd restaurant in Timmins.

Based on investigation, the Timmins Police Service has determined that the suspect gained entry by force into the restaurant and proceeded to gather up stolen merchandise.

Considerable damage was done to the front entrance of the restaurant.

The suspect fled the scene with approximately $500 in stolen items.

The suspect returned hours later only to be confronted by restaurant staff.

The suspect fled on foot.

Responding Timmins Police officers were able to identify the suspect based on CCTV footage of the break-in.

As a result, Ted NAKOGEE, 30, of Timmins, was located and arrested and has been charged with:

– Break and Enter contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

– Possession of a Break and Enter Instruments contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

– Traffic in Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
