TIMMINS POLICE EXECUTE SEARCH WARRANTS – SEIZED NARCOTICS – LAY CHARGES

The Timmins Police Service – Drug Enforcement Section, working in conjunctions the OPP’s Drug Enforcement Unit and the OPP’s Canine Unit, executed a series of search warrants at 3 locations in the city of Timmins last week resulting in the seizure of a sizeable amount of pharmaceutical narcotics, other illegal substances, cash, weapons and drug paraphernalia.
On April 17th, a search warrant was executed at a Third Avenue apartment where police located and seized 23.9 grams of cocaine with a street value of $2,400, 12 methamphetamine pills with a street value of $60, a set of brass knuckles, cash and paraphernalia
On April 17th a search warrant was executed at a Third Avenue commercial enterprise resulting in the seizure of 11,471 methamphetamine pills with a street value of $57,355, 362 grams of cocaine with a street value of $36,200, 5393 grams of cannabis marihuana. (11.8lbs) with a street value of $53,930, $45 000 in cash along with assorted drug paraphernalia
On April 17th, a search warrant was executed at a Walter Lane residence where police located and seized 46 913 methamphetamine pills with a street value of $234,565, $9 035 in cash and drug paraphernalia and firearm ammunition
The total street value of all drugs seized is pegged at $384,510 along with approximately $50,000 in Canadian currency.
Police also seized any and all paraphernalia that they deem was used to assist with the preparation of drugs for individual sale destined for the streets of Timmins and surrounding area.
The Timmins Police Service has charged Christopher CROKER, 33, of Timmins with:
– 3 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
– 1 count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– 1 count of Possession of Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
He was held in custody and subsequently released at a bail hearing with a first appearance court date scheduled in May.
The Timmins Police Service has also charged Caroline SABOURIN, 24, of Timmins with:
– 3 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
– 1 count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– 1 count of Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to Prohibition Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused was held in custody awaiting a bail hearing and has been subsequently released with a first appearance court date scheduled in May.
Lastly, the Timmins Police Service has charged Maurice SERVANT, 48, of Timmins with:
– 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
– 1 count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– 1 count of Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon contrary to Prohibition Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused was released from custody on a Promise to Appear requiring that he attend Provincial Court in May
