TIMMINS POLICE CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE FATAL MVC INVOLVING A CYCLIST

The Timmins Police Service is continuing its investigation into a motor vehicle collision involving a cyclist that occurred at approximately 12:43 p.m. on Tuesday, August 17th which has resulted in loss of life.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Birch Street North where a cyclist  entered into the intersection and struck a pickup truck.                                                                                          The cyclist, who sustained significant injury, has since succumbed to those injuries.
The deceased has been positively identified as Luke ETHERINGTON, 25, of Timmins.
Next-of-kin notifications have been completed by the Timmins Police Service.
The comprehensive investigation into the collision remains underway, managed by the Timmins Police Service – Traffic Section, working in conjunction with the Timmins Police – Forensic Identification Unit and the Criminal Investigations Division.                                                                                                            The driver of the pickup was found to be driving properly
