TIMMINS POLICE CHARGE WOMAN FOR ASSAULT AT LOCAL PHARMACY

The Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into a criminal incident that resulted in an arrest yesterday (14 February) of a Timmins woman.

The Timmins Police Service responded to a late afternoon altercation that occurred yesterday at an Algonquin Blvd pharmacy where a 60-year-old male person was assaulted.

Based on investigation, it has been determined that a subject attended at the pharmacy and was confronted while attempting to leave without paying for over $300 in merchandise.

While confronted, the subject struck a 60-year-old man with a closed fist.

The subject was located at the scene and arrested by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result, Justine STEPHEN, 27, of Timmins has been charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody for the purposes of a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against her.
