The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with Break and Enter related offences stemming from an incident that occurred during the afternoon hours of Wednesday, February 8th, at a Mountjoy Street South nightclub in Timmins.
Based on investigation, the Timmins Police Service had determined that the suspect gained entry by force into the nightclub and proceeded to gain access to a cash register.
The damage caused at the point of entry is estimated to be $500.00.
The suspect fled the scene with cash taken from the cash register.
Responding Timmins Police officers were able to identify the suspect based on CCTV footage of the break-in.
As a result, Mark WEST, 37, of Timmins, was located and arrested later the same day by the Timmins Police.
A quantity of a controlled substance was found during the arrest of the suspect.
As a result, he has been charged with:
– Break and Enter contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substance Act
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
