TIMMINS POLICE CHARGE MOTORIST FOR EXCESSIVE SPEED – STUNT DRIVING VIOLATION

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with a stunt driving-related offence contrary to the Highway Traffic Act stemming from an incident that occurred during the afternoon hours of Saturday, October 24th in the area of Riverside Drive in Timmins

As a result of observations made by a Timmins Police Service officer, a traffic stop was initiated and the driver of the vehicle was interviewed by the officer.

It was determined that the driver of the 2007 Audi had been operating his vehicle at a speed that exceeded the posted speed limit by more than 50 km/h in a Community Safety Zone.

As a result of the incident, Karandeep SINGH, 21, of Timmins, was charged with:

– Stunt Driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

The vehicle used in the commission of this offence was towed from the scene and has been impounded for 7 days.

A seven-day driver’s licence suspension has been issued as well.

SINGH was served with the applicable Provincial Offences Act Summons related to the excessive speed offence and is required to attend Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the offence with which he is charged.
