The Timmins Police Service has charged an offender with Criminal Code offences based on an investigation into an incident that took place at an apartment building, located in the south end of the city, during the afternoon hours of Friday, March 10th.
Timmins Police officers responded to a call for service involving a person who had sustained serious injury stemming from an altercation involving firearms on the afternoon of March 10th.
The ensuing investigation by the Timmins Police – Criminal Investigations Division has resulted in charges being laid against Leshawn BIGGART, 19, of Toronto.
He is charged with the following offences:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Firearm contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Careless Use of a Firearm contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Pointing a Firearm in a Careless Manner contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Firearm contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Discharge of Firearm with Intent contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Aggravated Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Possess a Firearm Contrary to Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
BIGGART remains in police custody and is compelled to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 15th to answer to the charges laid against him.
