The Timmins Police Service – Criminal Investigations Division has charged a local man with Attempt to Commit Murder based on its investigation into an incident where a 41-year-old male person had been assaulted during the morning hours of Thursday, August 24th, at a Sixth Avenue apartment building.
A local resident discovered the victim and alerted the police that the victim of the altercation required immediate medical attention
The victim was transported to hospital by ambulance and treated for his injuries.
Based on the ensuing investigation into the incident, the suspect was identified and an arrest warrant had been sought.
The subject was located, and arrested by the Timmins Police Service on Saturday, October 21st at a Fifth Avenue address.
At one point in the investigation, the suspect provided a false name to the police.
As a result, Robert ALEXANDER, 41, OF Timmins, has been charged with:
- Attempt to Commit Murder contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Public Mischief contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Personation with Intent contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused has been remanded into custody to await further court appearances.
