TIMMINS POLICE CHARGE LOCAL MAN WITH ASSAULT

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with Criminal Code offences based on its investigation into an incident that occurred during the afternoon hours of Saturday, November 18th in the south end of the city.

The Timmins Police responded to a call for service where a suspect had brandished a weapon and uttered threats towards a 25-year-old female person at a Spruce Street South address.

Based on investigation into the incident, the suspect was identified and eventually located and arrested by the Timmins Police Service that same day.

As a result, Jeffrey TILLEMAN, 49, of Timmins has been charged with:

  • Assault with a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Carry a Concealed Weapon Assault with a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Utter Threats contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him
