TIMMINS POLICE ARREST LOCAL MAN FOR DEFACING LOCAL PARKING LOT SIGNS

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with Criminal Code offences stemming from a series of incidents that occurred near a Spruce Street South municipal parking lot in Timmins that occurred on Friday September 2nd.
Based on the investigation, it has been determined that a local man had attended the parking lot and began to deface a total of 14 parking lot signs.
Based on a review of CCTV footage, the suspect was identified, located, and arrested at the scene by the Timmins Police Service.
As a result, Charles EDWARDS, 29, of Timmins, has been charged with:
– Mischief – Damage Property contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused was released from police custody on the strength of an Undertaking compelling him to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins on September 27th to answer to the charges laid against him.
