The Timmins Police Service is currently investigating an incident involving a firearm that took place at an apartment building in the south end of the city yesterday afternoon.

Responding Timmins Police officers located a Toronto area man who had sustained serious injury stemming from a gun-shot.

The conscious male was transported to hospital by ambulance where he remains and continues to receive medical attention.

The injuries sustained are deemed to be serious, however the man remains in stable condition.

The public can expect a noticeable police presence in the immediate area for the time being as the Timmins Police Service – Criminal Investigation Division officers complete various investigative tasks regarding this incident.

The Timmins Police are actively seeking to identify and locate the person or persons responsible however, no tangible or specific threat to public safety exists.

The Timmins Police would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident or any suspicious activity in the area either leading up to the incident, or immediately afterwards.
